Slowmouse is the web data portal that allows to store and access automatic recordings of sensors deployed at specific sites such as Pian del Toppo or Latera. Sensors acquire parameters such as for example temperature, pressure or conductivity and transmit them via serial lines, or other means to an A/D device that reads the values and pass them to the following step in the chain.
In many cases these devices are commercial tools that conform to proprietary ecosystems but, so far, in all the considered cases, these limitations can be overridden obtaining the actual values and using them in the following steps of the process. Once the data is available, this digital signal can be formatted and sent to 'slowmouse'. The process is based on an http POST call that can be issued from a dedicated server that collect locally the readings, format them and send them to the main data server. Slowmouse acts also as a data access facility. Here in fact end users can select the data types and the ranges they are interested in and download the datasets on their workstation while easing the back office data process and storage process.
